How Chloe got 8 backers and USD $505 funded in 24 hours — ralli

Chloe is a semi-professional Pole Vaulter from Pennsylvania, USA with the ultimate goal of representing the USA at the Olympics. Like almost every athlete who joins ralli, she started with an empty profile, no backers and the very normal fear that nobody would care.

Then she did three small things in one afternoon: she finished her profile properly, she put her ralli link in her social media bio, and she shared her profile to her pages.

Within 24 hours she had 8 backers and $505 behind her.

Nothing about that is luck, and nothing about it needs a big following. The people who backed Chloe already knew her — they just had never been given a simple way to help. Here is exactly what she did, step by step, so you can do the same this week.

The share card from Chloe's dashboard — every athlete gets one, ready to post.

Step 1 — Finish your profile before you share anything

This is the one that matters most. A half-finished profile asks people to trust a stranger. A finished one shows them an athlete with a plan.

Before you share your link, make sure you have:

  • A clear profile photo. Face visible, in your kit or in action. No group shots, no sunglasses, no blurry screenshots.

  • Your story in your own words. Where you are now, what you are training for, and what backing actually pays for — travel, coaching, entry fees, equipment. Specific beats polished.

  • Photos and video. Training clips, competition footage, behind-the-scenes. People back momentum they can see.

  • Your upcoming events. A date on the calendar gives people a reason to back you now instead of later.

  • A funding goal. Say what you are working towards and what it costs.

Chloe had all five before she posted once. That is the whole trick.

Step 2 — Put your ralli link in your bio

Your profile link is rallihq.co/athletes/your-name. Copy it from your dashboard and paste it into the bio of every account you use — Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, your club page.

If you already use a link tool, add ralli as the first link, not the last. This is the quiet one that keeps working while you sleep: every new follower, every person who looks you up after a competition, lands on a way to back you.

Step 3 — Share your profile properly, once

Not a link dropped with no context. A post that sounds like you. The shape that works:

  1. Where you are. “I'm chasing a national qualifier this season.”

  2. What it takes. “Travel, entry fees and coaching add up fast.”

  3. The ask. “I've joined ralli so people can back me directly — any amount helps.”

  4. The link. In the caption, in your story, and in your bio.

Post it to your feed and your story. Stories get the taps; the feed post is what people find later and share.

Step 4 — Ask 10 people directly

Public posts get you seen. Private messages get you backed. Send your link to ten people who already believe in you: family, your coach, teammates' parents, your old school, the local club, the physio who has patched you up all season.

Keep it short and human: “Hey — I've just set up a ralli page so people can back my season. Would mean a lot if you took a look.”

Most first backers come from this step. Chloe's did.

Step 5 — Thank every backer, publicly and fast

When someone backs you, you see it in your dashboard straight away. Reply to them in your community feed, and post a thank-you to your story naming what it unlocks: “That covers my entry for next month.”

Two things happen. Your backers feel it landed. And everyone else watching sees that backing you is real, visible and appreciated — which is what turns the second backer into the tenth.

Step 6 — Keep showing up

Backing is not a one-off campaign, it is a season-long relationship. Post an update every week or two: a session, a setback, a result, a milestone. Log your milestones so they appear on your profile and the ralli home feed.

Athletes who post regularly keep their backers, and keep picking up new ones after every competition.

The 30-minute version

  • 0–15 min: photo, story, funding goal, upcoming events, a few clips.

  • 15–20 min: link into every bio.

  • 20–25 min: one feed post and one story.

  • 25–30 min: ten direct messages.

That is the whole playbook. It is what stood between Chloe and $505.

What your backers get

Every allocation to your profile earns your backers ralli reward points™. Those points are redeemable in the ralli Vault for premium merch, memorabilia, events and more.

The more milestones you log — competitions, PBs, selections, wins — the more points your backers collect. It turns one moment of support into a season-long relationship, and gives your community a reason to keep cheering every time you compete.

Tip: show potential backers the Vault

When you share your profile, mention what backers can earn. The Vault is a simple way to show them the merch, memorabilia and experiences their points unlock. It removes the “what do I get?” question before they even ask it.

Why it works

People do not back athletes because they have a big audience. They back athletes because they can see the person, understand the goal, and find a way to help in under a minute. Your job is simply to remove the guesswork.

Your people are already there. Give them the link.

Figures in this article are Chloe Timberg's real ralli results in her first 24 hours after sharing: 8 backers, $505 backed. Results vary by athlete, sport and audience.

Share your card, not just your link

Every athlete on ralli has a personal share card — your photo, your sport, a clear Join my circle · win when I win button and your profile link with your referral code built in. This is Chloe's:

A card like this works harder than a plain link: it shows your face, carries your referral code automatically, and tells people exactly what happens when they back you — they earn ralli rewards points™ on every allocation and every verified milestone. Post it to your story, pin it, and drop it into those ten direct messages from Step 4.

Find yours in your Growth Hub. Open your athlete dashboard and head to the Growth Hub — your share card, your referral link and your sharing tools all live there, ready to download and post. If you have not opened it yet, that is your next five minutes.
